Packing Information
When you pack your carry-ons, you might want to pack one “extreme vital for the flight bag” in case they determine that you can only carry on one bag.
I can’t fit all that I want to pack! Any suggestions?
There are vacuum-packers out on the market. However, there is a quick and easy fix to maximizing packing space: buy super size Ziploc bags and pack with those as “packing cubes.” Simply fill the bag with your stuff (rolling your clothes helps), zip it up almost all the way and then sit on the bag to force out the excess air. Zip it shut while you are sitting on it. You will have a vacuum packed bag for traveling. Also, several stores do offer Velcro “packing cubes” for clothes. These are not as cheap as Ziploc bags, but they are reusable.
Invest in some reasonable, but decent luggage locks. Lock every bag you check. Eagle Creek carries some good three number combination luggage locks.
You’ll want to be sure that you are able to, by yourself, carry your own entire luggage. That means that the ideal large duffle bag will have wheels.
What are some essentials that I should bring with me?
Some needed essential items that you might want to consider bringing or have shipped are:
- bed sheets

- rain boots (Because Athens has a rainy season and you’ll be walking alot, these can come in handy. To save space, stuff socks and undergarments in the boots.)
